There are three levels of vehicles in the range, which are the Caddy, the Transporter and the Crafter. Every model is available in a range of variations to suit virtually every trade or business need. They all feature impressively low running costs for their vehicle type and resale values are excellent. They're big on space and big on driver comfort.
We invite everyone interested in a commercial vehicle to visit our new showroom at 621 High Street Preston. You can also visit the website at www.bayfordvwcommercials.com.au or call the dealership on 9471 5500. |

ANY COLOUR YOU LIKE...
OR MAYBE NOT? |
 |
For years there's been a popular belief that white cars are more visible on the road and therefore, better for safety.
Well it's now been confirmed by a Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) study which showed that white is the safest for visibility, and black was the most dangerous.
Other light colours were also shown to be safer, but not as much as white. Road safety and vehicle colour were linked in the research, and it showed that black cars were more likely to be involved in a crash. They had a 12% higher crash risk than white vehicles, followed closely by grey coloured ones at 11%. That certainly creates more deliberation when choosing your next new or used vehicle.

HAT TRICK AT BATHURST
FOR TEAM VODAFONE |
 |
TeamVodafone drivers Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup made V8 Supercar history when they won their third consecutive Bathurst 1000 this month. They are the first Ford duo to achieve this feat at Mount Panorama.
Taking the lead fairly early in the race, the duo had a dream run with everything going to plan in what was a consistent and fast performance for both drivers. Congratulations.

PASSAT JOINS THE
ENVIABLE R SERIES |
 |
Volkswagen’s R series welcomes its newest and fastest addition – the new Passat R36. |
Joining the already awesome presence of the Touareg R50 and the dynamic Golf R32, the Passat R36 makes this performance range a force to be reckoned with.
Volkswagen began introducing the R series with a Golf back in 2004 to satisfy the need for an exclusively equipped top-end Volkswagen with an impressive powerplant, and the Passat R36 certainly doesn't disappoint. Effortless power is derived from a 3.6 litre V6 direct-injection petrol engine producing 220 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque which is meticulously matched to the 6-speed direct-shift DSG gearbox.
To ensure maximum safety, the vehicle is equipped with 4MOTION all-wheel-drive, and features as standard Volkswagens latest active and passitive safety technology. Absolute comfort and luxurious decor are very evident throughout the R36 which is certain to make a big impression with enthusiasts.
To test drive the Passat R36 contact Camberwell Volkswagen on 98 111 888.

Falcon's Fuel Efficiency Compared - it's Good News |
| |
One of the impressive features of the new G-Series range of Falcons is its remarkable fuel efficiency. Figures are from ADR 81:01 results showing combined city/highway driving sourced from www.greenvehicle.gov.au
The G6E Falcon came in at 10.2 which was an excellent result when compared to the others in this table. Many people appear to be reluctant to get into a family sized vehicle because of fear of the fuel pump, and these figures show that Falcon is one of the most efficient vehicles available.

0 to 100 in 3.7 seconds for Golf SuperCar |
|
WOLFSBURG, Germany
The word "extreme" hardly begins to describe Volkswagen's Golf GTi W12-650 concept. |
|
Specially created to headline a Volkswagen enthusiasts annual gathering in Austria, this three-door hatch was conceived as the wildest, fastest and most powerful incarnation of the Golf GTi ever. Rear-wheel drive and boasting a mid-mounted 12-cylinder engine producing 650 horsepower, its specification meets and beats those of some of the world's most celebrated supercars.
The engine was developed by Volkswagen's Motorsport division and clearly demonstrates how Volkswagen was able to overcome huge technical difficulties, yet still maintain a classic (although beefed up) Golf appearance. This GTI concept offers a level of performance that will embarrass all but the top echelon of supercars on sale today. We must add that regrettably for some, the vehicle will not be offered for sale. |

A production version of the sexy Iosis X concept all-wheel-drive had been seen as one of the next Euro-Ford imports headed for down under.
This crossover concept has been seen by Ford executives as having merit to be in Australia's local range.
|
Whilst the Iosis concept release is not brand new, it does have interesting parallels to the new Kuga which is now on sale in Europe. In fact it is believed that the new Ford Kuga was inspired by the Iosis concept carrying across the emotion and desirability of the Iosis to the model. When's Kuga due in Australia? You'll have to watch this space. |

Peugeot Sets Two Fuel Economy
Guinness World Records |
| Driven by John and Helen Taylor (pictured) earlier this year, the Super Fuel Efficient Peugeot 308 HDi arrived back in Melbourne with two new World Records under its belt (subject to final Guinness World Record confirmation). |
 |
Averaging 1919km’s per 60-litre tank, the Peugeot 308 breaks the record set by the previous model in 2004.
John and Helen Taylor have battled the elements over the 25 day 'Round Australia' journey to break their own record, encountering rain, storms and even a cyclone as they drove 14,580km around the country.
Final fuel consumption figure was only 3.13 litres per 100km, or 90.75 mpg, which breaks the previous record belonging to a Peugeot 307 of 3.49 litres per 100km.
Only 90.3 grams of CO2 was produced per km (includes fuel supply chain) which compares to a national vehicle average of 285* grams per km (*according to figures from the Department of Climate Change and the Australian Bureau of Statistics).

NEW PASSAT CC - COMFORT COUPE |
 |
Volkswagen's Coupe style Passat in a four-door body
unveiled
at the Australian International Motor Show. |
An exceptionally comfortable and elegant vehicle inside, this is a fully independent body design with four sporty individually sculpted seats, impressive powertrain systems and technology worthy of the luxury class. Melded together to offer a unique choice in the medium market segment, Volkswagen's Coupe embodies the concept of a sporty coupe in a stunning four-door package which does not conform to the mainstream.
The Passat CC will be well equipped with luxurious features designed to cosset the driver and passengers, including Napa leather with inbuilt seat heaters for both front and rear occupants, 3 spoke leather multi-function steering wheel with gearshift paddles, climate control, brushed aluminium decorative interior trim and 12-way power adjustable front seats which form just a small part of the extensive list of standard equipment. Optimum safety has been thoughtfully built into this new model as you would except from Volkswagen. The new CC is expected to hit Australia's showrooms early next year, so you can look out for it at Camberwell Volkswagen, Ph 98 111 888. |

1 tonne Volkswagen Ute - Really? |
Volkswagen's commercial division took the wraps off a macho looking work and play 4x4 dual cab ute at the Hanover Commercial Vehicles Show.
|
|
Whilst details are sketchy, and simply called the Pickup, Volkswagen Australia says it will definitely be looking to bring the ute into Australia.
The robust ute would go head to head with utes such as Toyota's HiLux, Nissan's Navara, Holden's Rodeo and more. Volkwagen Australia believes the ute would be a nice addition to the company's light commercial range ushering in a fourth series of light commercials for the company.
Pickup is expected to go into production towards the end of next year and will join the existing Caddy, Transporter and Crafter range. |
